romney was going to take down the whole ticket because his campaign had been so ineffective. after the debate they were convinced he wasn't going to. he definitely had a good evening last night. whether or not it's enough to change the momentum in the race we'll know in the next few days. with respect to the plan all the democrats have done ills put a price tag. 20% across the board tax cuts make them permanent. >> that's a lie. what he said it's going to be cost neutral. >> he didn't say that until last night. >> that is just not right. he said it when he rolled it out. he said it in his speeches. >> he hasn't said how he's going to raise any revenue to make up for the losses in the tax revenue. >> since 1986 larry remembers it well. >> lower the rates, broaden the base. by the way he also said that the 17% duck bucket for deductions, that's the most anyone's going to get. the upper end bucket will be even smaller. before we get into this policy thing, look, your boys are going negative now, okay? that is a tipoff they are scared to death that romney was a game changer. obama said

doing better is supposed to trickle down to non rich people somehow. that is the core of mr. romney's economic ideology and economic plan. so i think they have coined this other competing trickle down term so the insult of trickle-down economics starts to just sound confusing and meaningless. trickle-down government, trickle-down economics, both sides are saying this, i don't really know what it means, it's just political noise. mr. romney trying to rob that phrase of its power by using the phrase itself in new nonsense ways. right? we know one way mr. romney may be trying to neutralize expected attacks on his economic ideas could be to rob his opponent's words of any meaning, right? now we also know after last night's debate is the other thing he's doing is just saying the economic plan he has been stumping for all year long is not his plan at all. mr. romney worked both those strategies last night and mr. romney, of course, won the debate, on style, on presentation, he won on demeanor. now day two is the attempted cleanup for things he actually said. today has been a day of mr. ro

. i think he let us all down. i hate to say it. look romney came to play. i think -- romney came to play and president obama stayed home. listen. i looked at it not just as an obama supporter but as somebody who loves debate and has made a living out of debating. and started out -- look, in -- i was on the debate team in high school. i the debate team -- in delaware. i was on the debate team at niagara university. when i went to college. i coached debate. my father judged high school in philadelphia. i debated on crossfire on the spin room, on msnbc. i've debated on the road with bob novack ay and bill crystal and mary madeline and you name them. armstrong williams. alan keys, i can't remember all of the conservatives i've been on the road with. so debate is sort of my thing. i'm sorry to say it, on points and on style, mitt romney won last debate. he came to play. obama did not. and it's not that -- i don't know what it w the president decided he wasn't going to get down and dirty but he just let mitt rom

we all inherited from george w. bush to something better. romney came out best in the first debate because he denied the path he has chosen, denied the big tax cut from 35% down to 28% for people at the top bracket. the all-out elimination of the estate tax, the big-time cut in the corporate rate. he do denied his plan to limit nate medicare, denied he would kill coverage for those with pre-existing conditions. he got away without bolterring to deny his plan to let the automobile industry to go bankrupt and to dump 40 million people to wait in the energy ro emergency room. let's look at the some of the latest polling in the wake of wednesday's debate. this afternoon pew released a poll that showed a dramatic shift toward romney. this poll covers the four days sibts the debate and it has romney pulling even with president obama among registered voters, 46% even. four weeks ago pew had obama up by nine among registered voters, so this has been a huge shift in the pew poll. the move in the pew poll towards romney is greater among likely voters. romney is surging ahead to 49%. four wee
